The book “The Fault Of our Stars” written by John Green is about a 16 year old girl named Hazel. Hazel has a tumor in her lungs so she cannot breath as well as most people. Hazel has to carry an oxygen machine with her everywhere that she goes. When another fellow cancer survivor slips into Hazel’s life it changes forever. Augustus Waters, had a tumor in his leg and doctors had to mutate it in order for him to live.  Augustus and Hazel had a mini romance in the book. They were a perfect couple for excepting who they were. Access to the book “The Fault of Our Stars” should not be limited because it may contain events and issues that some kids may go through. The book teaches kids about the life of a kid or a teenager who is fighting cancer. 8th graders are also mature to read this because this book is not about a silly situation.

One reason why the book “The Fault of Our Stars” should not be limited is because some kids may relate to what the main Character that Hazel is going through as a teenager with cancer. One article states “Reading about another teen in the same straits will be comforting.” “Darkness Too Visible”. This quote explains that the reader of this book may feel that they are not the only ones that have cancer. This could be good for the reader’s feelings or their emotions. Also you don’t have to be mature enough to read about a character’s feelings and emotions.

Another reason why the book “The Fault of Our Stars” should not be limited is because the book teaches a life lesson that readers may need later in life. In another article it states that “The books that we want to ban teach us the most valuable lessons.” “The Banned Books We’ve Loved”. So if we ban these books we are banning the life lessons that the kids need to learn. And we want kids to learn lessons. We can’t ban these books because of one section that may be inappropriate for the reader.

Many may argue that the book “The Fault of Our Stars” should be ban because one chapter in the book has one section that is sexual. The book does contain that sexual section but it is appropriate for 8^th graders to read. The sexual part is only one page and a half. It explains when Augustus took off his leg and Hazel asking him questions about the stump on his leg where the mutated part used to be.

In conclusion the book “The Fault of Our Stars” should not be limited because it may let kids or teenagers relate to the story and the book can teach people a life lesson. It can also teach people about the life of a kid or teenager with cancer.

He tries to forget her but it is impossible for him. After a few months of playing that he does not miss her. But she moved to California from their small town in Georgia. After they broke up he still saw her everyday when he walked down her block on purpose just to see her face again. He was depressed for weeks. It was continuous crying and whining . He wanted her back. After someone told her that he was cheating with a girl from around the corner from his house. But he really was not cheating on her. It was his ex trying to get back at him for breaking up with her. So he decided that he could not live without her and he needed her to be in his life. He was committed to getting her back no matter if she says no then he would die trying. So he went and headed for Los Angeles, California to get his girl back. He started by going on a plane to New Mexico with a last minute ticket that he brought online the night before. It was a little more than a 4 hour trip. On the plane he looked at photos of him and his girl together taking a hundred pictures at a time. Pictures of silly faces, her kissing him on the cheek and also pictures of them when they were on their perfect dates. He started to tear up and dropped and broke his cell phone. Now he had no communication with anyone except if he used a pay phone. When he got off the plane he still had a few hundred miles to go and save her. He got on a bus that went to L.A. Then when the bus got to his stop he saw his girlfriend waiting for him. "I was waiting for you.." she said as he squeezed her tight saying… "I missed you too."

The book Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher is about a girl who records 13 tapes explaining why she decided to committed suicide. In those tapes they explain how all the people in the tapes influenced Hannah’s suicide. There are two people that really show out of the 13 people. They are the main character Clay and Byron. The reason why Clay stood out of all of the people in the recordings was because of his positive effect on Hannah. In the book Hannah was at a going away party. She met Clay for the first time and she began to talk to him and not hate him. She also kissed him because she felt so comfortable around him. Clay unlike any of the other 12 people in the recordings did something nice for Hannah and did not talk or believe the reputation that she had inside of the school. But the mistake that Clay made was when Hannah was struggling and screaming. He asked her what was wrong but she told him to get out. But he regrets going out of the room because they never spoke again after that. Unlike all of the other people he was actually a good person to her because he actually had a crush on her and did not get a chance to tell Hannah that he loved her because she killed herself. The reason why Byron stood out of all of the people in the recordings was because he had the most negative effect on Hannah. Ever since the candy or valentines grams came out and he landed a date with Hannah. After that he began to go too fast to be that young. He wanted to touch her inappropriate way that made her feel extremely uncomfortable. He wanted to go too fast just to get a peek at something. But near the end of the book he molested her in a hot tub about hours before she committed suicide. So she felt that her reputation caught up with her and she deserved to die but she did not. Bryon was a huge impact on Hannah’s suicide. In conclusion Clay and Bryon had a huge impact on the suicide of Hannah in different ways. These ways were in a good way for Clay but with Byron he should have been arrested for what he did to Hannah.

Dakota Swann 808 The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn The title of the book that I am reading is “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” written by Mark Twain. The main character is of course Huckleberry Finn but most people call him Huck for short. Huck’s role as a character in the book is very big because everything in the book is revolved around him and his fellow characters. Huck lives in a widow’s house because his mother is dead and his father is always drunk plus no one knows where he is most of the time. Huck needs to learn how to not to do stupid things that will get him in trouble. In one example that Huck is trying to be in the in crowd is when he was in the gang started by Tom Sawyer. First the gang or the people who wanted to be in the gang had to stick their finger with a pin and then they had write their name on a paper with their own blood so it was official. But what was crazy was that everyone agreed (even Huck) to lie hurt rob and steal no matter what. That is not the right thing to do but Huck and Tom had been friends for a long time and he did not want to let him down. Also he did not want to be called a wimp because he would not do something risky. Another reason why Huck does some stupid things at times is when he had 6,000 dollars and that was a lot of money back then. People In the town called him rich because of the money. But Huck did not want the money that he had. SO he said to the pastor to keep it because he did not want it. The pastor was rejecting it at first and then he went and took it back. But he gave Huck a dollar out of it because he felt bad for the boy. But no one who actually needs the money like him would take it not let it go

During the summer I read “Who Could That Be at This Hour: All the Wrong Questions” By Lemony Snicket. This book is a fiction story about when Lemony Snicket was younger. Lemony is a boy that is an apprentice to a woman named Theodora Markson. Theodora steals possessions back from the people who stole the item in the first place. Lemony Snicket had gotten a note from a woman named S when he was in a restaurant with his parents. The note had said to meet the woman outside of the woman’s bathroom. He went through all of this trouble to get there and asks the woman what the letter of her name stands for. Lemony was focusing on things that aren’t important to the situation. He should be asking a questions like “Why did you call me outside” or “Why did you ask me to go outside without my Parents knowing? Lemony should learn to look at his surroundings and ask questions that are related to the situation instead of looking for the most little things that don’t matter to other people. Lemony does not pay attention to what people say and then he asks questions that the person had already answered. In the book the woman who was assisting Lemony asked the client "Perhaps Ms.Callis could describe the statue.” said lemony. “Sorry Ms.Callis perhaps my apprentice wasn’t listening… it is as big as a milk bottle." said Theodora Lemony Snicket was not paying attention to what Ms.Callis was saying to him. Ms.Callis was a client to Theodora. Ms.Callis was complaining about how her statue was stolen. She was describing how she knew who stole her statue and was giving the two thieves important information to steal the statue back from the people who stole it. Snicket does not pay attention to what people say and that causes him to ask the same questions that the client or person as answered before. Lemony should learn to listen carefully to what people say and not be distracted by little things so that he will not be confused about what the person said. In the story lemony acually lhas to learn to to ask a question that is related to the situation that he is going through at the moment. He should also learn to listen to what people say so he won’t have to ask the same question that the person answered. Learning to avoid these problems will help him to avoid this bad habit. But otherwise this book was amazing and was a really good book read. I totally recommend it.
